In the following 14 races Kimi and his team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya secured 9 dominant wins between them in one of the most exciting and competitive seasons for years. Juan Pablo, who joined the team for 2005 took his first victory for team McLaren Mercedes at the British Grand Prix. As with the 2003 Drivers standings, Team McLaren Mercedes and Kimi made a convincing runner-up to the World Champions.
